What a great way to see Charleston Harbor! Comfortable seating, good tour guide, and the option to move around the boat (to get out of the sun, in our case), made this a really pleasant experience. Due to the wind, however, if you really want to hear the tour narration, I suggest you stay below deck. Fun trip, and just the right length at 90 minutes.

Our guide was great. You could tell from the minute we got in carriage that she knew and understood Charleston and its people and history. She treated the animals with care and respect. For the life of me I can't remember her name. We were an overflow group at 2:00 on Tuesday the 12th. The animal's names were Wando and Bohicket. This young woman is fantastic!

Great adventure

We first did the boat tour which was great because it was infomative and fun. Then 2 days later when we were tired of walking we did the carriage ride and that was also full of lots of information and our guide Sean was excellent. Then 2 days after that we decide to drive to the Boone plantation which was beautiful. Will do this all again when we come back to Charleston

Lovely afternoon on the harbor

We really enjoyed our harbor tour. It wasnt very full the afternoon that we went and we all got some individualized attention. My daughter , age 5, really enjoyed feeling like she was the "captain" of the ship. All of the crew were very nice and made the trip very fun for all of us but espescially my daughter. We saw a few dolphins and the view of Charleston from the boat is lovely. Very informative as well.

Bay tour was very interesting and informative. Dolphins led our boat.

Raining and not pleasant on deck, but below

Was nice with all the windows.

Carriage ride good, misting but 0k. Disappointed we got the red ball tour, but better than expected. Guide was good.

Beautiful day for Boone Hall. We enjoyed a lot and waited until Sunday to take it.

All in all a very good experience.

Amazing Combo Tour of Charleston

Three other longtime friends and I bought tickets to see a combo Tour to visit the Charleston Harbour And Boone a Hall Plantation. Purchasing the tickets was easy. Boone Hall Plantation was a three hour experience we all enjoyed thoroughly from the guided house tour to the open air car tour, to the Gullah Slave Tour which we all felt was a highlight, and finally a walk through the beautiful house gardens. We ate a sandwich at the souvenir/snack cafe apwhich we found to be excellent in our sandwich choices. Totally a great experience I would highly recommend.

The next day we took an hour and a half tour on an excursion boat through the Charleston Harbor. We sat on the top level on the bow and it was relaxing listening to the informative guide reveal the different things we saw as we sailed around the harbor. Again, I would highly recommend taking this combo tour which exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful day; lovely experience

It was a pleasant, relaxing way to end our first visit to Charleston. It was easy to hear and understand the captain as he shared the history of the harbor, its pirates, and it's inhabitants. We were disappointed that we did not get closer to the the landmarks he described, ie: Ft. Sumter and The Battery. We had expected to get a very special view from the water. The harbor was very busy when our tour was out, and perhaps that impacted the distance we had to maintain from these areas. That may also have been the reason we saw no waterlife that day, either.

The Captain was very easy to hear and understand. We were able to understand the layout of the area and the history of the area through this harbor tour.

The tour guides did a great job of giving a quick summary of the history of Charleston and pointing out important landmarks. Unfortunately, we didn't see any dolphins but saw some on the way out to our tour of Fort Sumter later

Carriage and harbor tour

I was visiting Charleston with my adult daughter. We loved the carriage ride. Our guide really knew the city's history and conveyed it in an interesting way. At one point one of the mules became uncooperative. Our guide was able to handle the situation with expertise. I definitely would recommend this activity.

The harbor tour also had a very knowledgable guide. It was a beautiful day. We went all the way to Fort Sumter and then back. This would be great for a history buff but if you're short on time I would suggest something else.

The harbor tour was an enjoyable ride on the water and very informative about the area. The plantation was beautiful and the tour guides were very Friendly and knowledgeable. It was a very nice experience. We were not able to take our carriage ride but the ticket is good for a year so we plan for that to be the first thing we do when we return. I would recommend this tour package.

The crew makes you feel at home and the food was better than any BBQ I've ever had. No night gould have given any better sunset. And if the Blues are what you like the band is the best.

Recommend for a fun night, but not a tour
Fri, May 1, 15   7:00 PM candaceapple Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My husband and I booked this event because it sounded like fun and like a great introduction to Charleston. Because it's offered by Charleston Harbor Tours, we assumed it was a tour; it is not. It's a fun night of food and drink, music and beautiful views; it is not, however, a narrated guide for the sites you see. It appeared as if this were a cruise that mainly locals take advantage of. This, in and of itself, is always a good sign that it's worth the money. The entire staff aboard the boat were friendly and fun! If you're a local - GO! If you're a tourist - only go if you aren't looking for a tour.
