There was a last minute boat change, so the boat we took was not really ready for our cruise. The weather was cold and windy, so we spent the entire time in the enclosed lower deck. The windows were filthy, so it was difficult to see out. The cruise was smooth, even thoough the bay was choppy. The crew members were very nice, and the captain gave a nice overview of the area. We had gone on a walking tour and the Ft, Sumter tour already, so I wished we had not booked this ahead of time (non-refundable). Would recommend doing this first, not last.

The Boone Hall Plantation was enjoyable. We started with the "coach" ride. Kevin , our driver, was very enjoyable and informative. The coach is open, so it was quite cool. The house tour is very limited, but our guide was very interesting . The house is not the original plantation house, but is beautiful, and the plantation is only a portion of what it used to be. The avenue of oaks is quite impressive. Would like to see this plantation in spring when things are blooming.

Truly the best

If you only have a short period of time in Charleston, I truly recommend doing this. The boat excursion we did first, because we saw the entire city from the water, it gave us a good handle on where everything was when we are on land and were to go adventuring the city.

The Carriage ride at Palmetto stable is fun and interesting but I must say it was our driver who put it over the top. If you do go make sure you get the guy with the long beard. Not only does he gets Charleston, he gets life.

I saw some reviews before we went the Nelson plantation and I was little skeptical because several were on the negative side. Once there I realized how small people can be and always have to find a negative to be happy. Plantation was so full of history even with the main house being built within the last 75 years and how it got to be at that stage.

And last but least you save a few bucks by doing all three.

The harbor tour was educational, pleasant, and enlightening. A special feature was the narration by Captain Dave, which increased the enjoyability. I would suggest, from the tourist's perspective, limiting the number of passengers per tour--ours was a little crowded for most comfort.

The combo was interesting, filled with historical, economical, social, and current information about Charleston, SC. The guides were personal and accommodating. Everything ran smoothly from parking for the carriage ride to exiting the boat after the harbor tour. The free parking is awesome at both the red barn and the harbor. Go, enjoy!

Great Experience!

The Harbor Tour was a wonderfully relaxing experience. Great way to get an overview of the area and the many opportunities for further exploration and entertainment on our trip.

The plantation tour was also delightful. The historical value of this tour was priceless. We were, however, slightly disappointed in the limited area of the plantation home that was open to tour as well as the fact that this was not an "original" plantation home, but a relatively new home constructed in 1935.

In Charleston celebrating my parents 60 anniversary we decided to take a boat tour of Charleston Harbor. Captain Jimmy was very informative and entertaining. The mates were very friendly and accommodating. The boat serves food and drinks for an extra fee. Great way to see some historical sites of the area. Highly recommend for ALL ages.

Good harbor tour with good commentary

Gets you up close to points of interest on shore. Captain give good, detailed, and humorous at times, commentary about what you are seeing. He's great at spotting dolphins. He gives some background and history on the area. Best to do in good weather to enjoy the views on the outside deck. However, in cooler or inclement weather, there are large viewing windows on the enclosed deck and plenty of seating either at round tables or in individual chairs lined up in front of the large viewing windows. Good value and time well spent.

We had comfortable and informative trips on both the harbor tour and the carriage ride. The tour guides were friendly and humorous, but also gave us a good history lesson! I highly recommend this company.

Good trip for my elderly Mother

This was a nice and safe way for my Mom to get out on the water and see around the area from that perspective. The crew was excellent and so friendly. Our only complaint was not being able to hear the tour guide. I don't know if you could offer some sort of audio for people sitting below the top or for the elderly, but that was our only disappointment. We missed most of the tour details.

The tours provided an enjoyable history of Charleston. The guides held everyone's interest and made the tour a didactic experience. I look forward to a future tour at Christmas when additional family will be visiting us.

This was our first visit to Charleston and we wanted to see as much as we could in just a weekend!! We loved these tours! The Harbor tour guide was very informative and we learned so much and saw so much. We then went to the Plantation in the afternoon, had ample time to see everything although there was a wedding reception that night and so the guests were arriving when we were going throught the slave quarters but not a problem and it also was close to 5:00 and closing time and we did not go see the dock as the reception was down there! overall, this was a great experience, we enjoyed both tours and also the convenience of getting both tickets for the tours through Zerve.
