The tour was very relaxing and we had a great time. Our Captain did a great job with the history of Charleston and we had a ball. The price was very resonable for a 1.5 hour tour.

A Fantastic Voyage

We enjoyed exploring Charleston by sea. It was fascinating to see some ocean friends (dolphins) swim along next to us as well. The gentleman steering the boat and providing informative info. was very interesting and enjoyed listening to his "stories."

carriage ride & harbor tour
Thu, Feb 21, 08   11:30 AM RubyFrame Female 70+ Unspecified Other
Unfortunately, it was cold & windy the day we took our trip. But on the Harbor Tour, we met some friendly people & met the Captain, he was excellent. The tour was fun.

The carriage ride: We had a great guide, a young fellow born right there in Charleston, he was nice & funny, wish everyone could have him as their guide. But, again, it was very cold & we were not dressed for it. But the guide made it very interesting. Thanks for that.

We actually liked Charleston more than New Orleans.

Excellent harbor tour

I made reservations over the Internet for the Harbor Tour for myself and a friend. The acknowledgement was sent promptly, and when I arrived, the reservation was immediately at hand and recognized. I had made one reservation before, but it was with the Schooner Pride, and since that sailing was canceled (and I was informed of that right away), I was given a very prompt refund. Altogether, a very fine experience. Thanks, Sylvia Venable, PhD.

Very good

My five daughters and I really enjoyed the cruise and the carriage ride. We did not know that there was any food on board the vessel so perhaps a small note might be added for other groups that you have some foods available..

The Narrators on the cruise and carriage tour were excellent and we all benefited by their knowledge.

Thanks , I will recommend this combo to others.

Boone Hall Plantation and Charleston Harbor Boat T
Thu, Jul 23  3:30 PM LAHANNON Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I purchased the combo tour and picked up my voucher for the Plantation tour first. The Boone Hall Plantation Tour was good, the coach tour director/driver was great...but the Harbor tour was disappointing. We traveled out into the harbor with a verbal history lesson and saw the sights from a distance. Most of the history could have been found in historical books purchased from the Charleston Historical Society (recommended), and we did not travel closely to the city, making the sights a bit difficult to photograph and see well. I also would recommend taking a boat tour in spring or fall- it was way too hot on the boat, even with the breeze.

Not great...wish it was....but it wasn't
Thu, Jul 23  11:30 AM Lisawar Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Really not thrilled with the tour. It was hard to hear the tour guide. It was a hot day, and the inside "air conditioned" area was only down to 81...God help the tour after ours!

The tour itself, and the information given wasn't particularly interesting. There was no "show" to the tour....

The captain apparently found a guy fishing very interesting, and spent about 5-10 minutes parked near him so we could see if they hauled in their catch...they didn't.

Overall...Meh.

Worth doing

Not that much to see but the commentary was good and I didn't get the feeling the guy was bored with telling each trip the same story. Get shade on boat as 90 mins in July sun is horrid

Awesome Experience !!

Thoroughly HAPPY with entire experience .. Highly Recommend! Tip : If the weather allows, arrive at the loading ramp early. Standing in line is a drag for most people .. BUT, it does give you a chance to chat with crew as they prepare the boat. Then if you enjoy the salt flavored wind in your face .. pick a seat on the top deck at the bow.

Crew was very courteous and friendly. Historical narration and local information was First Rate. Enjoy your trip!

Wonderful Info and fun, but do it in the morning
Sun, Jul 19  11:30 AM sjbales Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The Carriage Tour was awesome, start to finish. Our guide was informed and fun and real, while the sights were wonderful and interesting. You'll be glad you did it.

The Harbor Tour was very informative too but we would have been happy to finish in an hour instead of 90 minutes. Lots about the war and battles got kind of old when it was so hot. That said, do them early in the day during summer as it gets very hot mid day.

Fun and informative tour

I have back problems and cannot walk for long. This tour let me see historical locations in and around Charleston without having to walk long distances. The crew members are very friendly and knowledgeable. It was very relaxing to feel the ocean breeze and the gentle swaying of the boat, while our guide gave us an interesting background to each historical area we passed. He presented the information in a way that was not boring at all. I highly recommend this tour.

More information would help

Each of the three tours were very enjoyable and professionally organised and conducted. Charleston and surrounds are beautiful and the three tours highlight this. The staff member at the registration desk at the harbour office was indifferent and did not explain that we would need to make our own way to the carriage ride and Boone Plantation. A little more courtesy and enthusiasm at the start would make the three tours so much more enjoyable.
