We decided to try the combo because we wanted to see a plantation and I personally love any tour involving a boat or ship on water. My wife isn't so keen on boat tours but she told me today that it has been her favorite part of our vacation so far. The staff was friendly and the captain was very knowledgeable on the history and geography of the city, past and present. The plantation tour for us was cut short by strong thunderstorms that lasted most of the day but what we were able to see and learn was fun and informative. The guides had so much to share and the grounds are truly beautiful! Something from a movie for sure.

Charleston from a different vantage point

Excellent tour of the harbor, I highly recommend the happy hour cruise. This is a great way to see the sunset over Charleston and learn about the harbor that is so critical to Charleston's development as a city. There is plenty of history, you get to see Fort Sumter, lighthouses in the distance, battle cruisers, etc. Excellent value.

Good food and service, but boat needs lots of work

The food was O.K. Nothing special for the price. Service was great. The boat looks like out of scrap yard! It really needs a lot of work! If I have seen a better picture of the boat, I will never had book the trip[!
Charleston Harbor Tours responded:
Thank you for booking the Sunset Blues and BBQ Cruise with Charleston Harbor Tours and for taking the time to write a review. I'm not sure what you were expecting as far the vessel, The Carolina Queen, but we constantly work on her and perform maintenance, paint, clean, etc... The vessel is very clean and in great shape. She is a bit older as the look we are going for is the classic riverboat style. As you can see, from our many reviews of past events, most guests enjoy the vessel and appreciate the nostalgia.

Relaxing, great way to see the harbor.

Had many seats above deck as well as below to allow for optimal viewing of the harbor with many options. Crew had a great personality and there is a mini bar on the boat. It was relaxing and we learned about a couple places to visit around Charleston and a few pirate stories we may not have known about if we didn't take the tour!

A Bit Confusing

I want to make it clear that the tours/activities themselves WERE wonderful! I have no complaint at all with any of the 3. We had originally made a reservation for the Harbor Boat Tour for a Wednesday evening at 6. We arrived on Tuesday. I called Zerve to find out where to pick up our tickets only to find out that particular tour was canceled. I had no prior knowledge of this. This was later easily resolved at the Marina but dealing with Zerve to get the information I needed was nothing short of MADDENING! The savings by purchasing a bundle prior to our visit WAS NOT worth the frustration of dealing with Zerve. I have 4 stars only because the activities earned it & I do not want to reflect poorly on them.

Great activity even with our wheelchair guest!

We googled things to do in Charleston with a handicapped family member and thought the harbor cruise would be perfect...and it was! The staff assisted us in getting the wheelchair up the gangplank (the speed bumps were a little rough going up but necessary going down). They ushered us to special seats in the shade, which was important since our Mom cannot move around to get comfortable. The captain had a lively voice with clear diction and did a great job explaining the history in an engaging way. The audio and speakers were good quality - which can really be a deal breaker if not - what's the point of going on a tour and learning new things if you can't make out the words, right? The concessions lady was super friendly and accommodated my custom drink request: ginger ale and pineapple juice! It was a refreshing and cool breezy way to enjoy the afternoon out over the water and i would highly recommend this to anyone wanting an overview of the history of the Charleston area.
