The guide was knowledgeable and interesting although there were some extended periods of silence. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon in Charleston but I would've preferred a trolley tour in the city itself.

Charleston Habour Tour

The Harbour tour was very informative and the guide very entertaining I just thought

it would have been better to have a stop such as a stop on Fort Sutmner instead of having to take another tour to see Fort Sutmner. It should be combined as a Harbour tour and a stop at Fort Sutmner with a tour there and then back.

Also more parking required in Charleston if you just want to walk around.

Fantastic experience...

My boyfriend and I wanted to have a romantic weekend in Charleston. Given the fact that we only had two days, we decided to go online and search for the best tour to take while in town. Well, there is not a better tour for the money than the Charleston Harbor Tour & Carriage Ride. It was a fantastic way to enjoy Charleston’s history and beautiful sightseeing in a snapshot without having to read the boring tourist’s guide and spend the entire two days walking.

During the harbor tour the weather was spectacular, we saw Charleston’s harbor, some boaters, dolphins, the battleship, the islands, the forts and everything else in just over an hour while seating and drinking at the ferry. The carriage ride was great idea because Charleston is really hot and humid in the summer. The driver was a sweet and smart local girl, the Belgian horses are very well kept and the path was full of pretty houses, museums, churches and restaurants.

We truly recommend it.

Interesting and informative

The harbor cruise was very relaxing and the friendly staff was ready to provide any information on the historic sites. The Olde Town Carriage Company, however, has very limited operating hours (would you believe they stop at 4pm!) so I could not take the carriage tour with them. However, when the Palmetto carriage tour company heard that I was leaving town the next day and could not take the carriage tour, they accomodated me on their mule-drawn carriage tour from the Red Barn, which was excellent!

Harbour Cruise was good apart from the fact the boat didn't really go close to anything .Also there was a lot of diesel fumes around the boat .

The carriage ride was very interesting

What a great way to see Charleston!

As out-of-state visitors to Charleston for the first time, and with only one day to visit, we were thrilled to find this 90 minute cruise. It offered us an opportunity to see quite a bit of the area and hear the history of the homes, forts, etc. We also enjoyed the narrated carriage ride that toured the historical streets. The carriage driver was witty and fun and made the ride very enjoyable. The homes were so beautiful. I truly recommend this combo package to anyone with limited time to visit Charleston and/or who is unable to walk a great distance.

An experience, but not incredibly interesting

The cruise was okay. The captain gave information but it wasn't particularly engaging or interesting. There were definitely not enough seats on the top deck to accommodate everyone that would have liked to be up there. It would have been nice to have known seating was so scant up top, then we could have arrived earlier to secure seats. We managed to get the last 2 seats up top, but they were behind the bar and the view was obstructed. Kind of a bummer. The one upside to the trip was that we were able to see dolphins twice during the cruise.

My wife and I had a great time on the Harbor during a brisk afternoon aboard the ship. The Captain gave appropriate narration through the tour giving enlightening information about the history of Charleston. We had a great time and will most likely do it again.

This harbor tour was very informative and the captain was knowledgeable and friendly. The ride was comfortable for the time of year. The only downside was not cruising further around to Battery Park and closer to Fort Sumter.

A pleasant interlude

Informative narration; attractive scenery; the view of the Ravenell Bridge from below was fascinating; we were lucky to have a sunny day with comfortable temperatures, although the breeze on the water was quite brisk; dolphin sighting was a bonus. The interlude of radio music would have been better filled with more narration and historic information or local anecdotes.
