We Loved the buggy ride, but the boat ride not so
Sat, Jun 6  1:30 PM btellier Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
The boat ride was too hard to tell most of the time what they were talking about, and hard to hear the man

talking.

The buggy ride was great. The guide was excellent. We felt that we learned a great deal from it.

Very Knowledgeable Tour Guides

The harbor tour was relaxing with ample time to take pictures. The tour guide talked during most of the 90 minute tour and provided us with a great background of the city's past, present, and future. The tour was worth the money paid for the ticket. The only thing that I didn't like was that we were under the impression that we had to buy the tickets online ahead of time so we would make sure that we had a spot on the tour, but we probably didn't have to do that - it caused a little bit of stress the night before. Also, we didn't like that we had to pay a $4 fee that would not have been charged if we would have bought the tickets on location. The combo price saved a couple of dollars, but the $4 fee basically wiped that savings out for us. Other than that, we would recommend the tours. The carriage ride took us into an area of the city that we would not have explored otherwise and learned a lot about the history of the city. The tour guide was amazing for the carriage ride, and was very friendly and witty.

The boat tour was very nice. Everyone from the customer service reps to the captain on the ship were very courteous and made the tour very special. Will definitely do this again.

We had an excellent tour guide that was comical and very knowledgeable of the area. He was very courteous to the traffic and answered our groups questions with ease. I would take this tour again on our next visit and request the same tour guide.

A bargain package

The combo tour is a very good way to experience very different aspects of Charleston and its history. The harbor tour was a pleasant diversion - you learn a lot of history and see sites without having to walk your feet off. The plantation tour was also interesting but a little disappointing because the main house is from a more modern time, not the original. Nonetheless, there is a variety of thongs to do and see that made for an enjoyable time.

We had a blast on the boat. It's a very nice tour of the Charleston harbor with a lot of interesting history on the way. There is so much to see in Charleston, this is a nice overall picture of the town that might give you some better ideas of what to explore next.

Fabulous experience

Loved everything: carriage ride, Gullah presentation at the plantation, and the harbor tour. Weather was perfect, guides knowledgable. Getting away without kids made a great date weekend for my husband and I.

Pleasant staff. Hot, tasty food presented well. Boat very stable. Music available but not overwhelming. Good balance--not too loud as to prevent conversation.

Tri combo Tour

Harbour Tour and Carriage Tour was very nice. Never did get to do the Plantation Tour. It is difficult to attend all three in one day, due to the closing times of the Plantation Tour and Carriage ride. We therefore had to make a decision to take either the Carriage ride or the Plantation Tour, which was dissappointing.

the pilot of our boat was easy to listen to and very knowledgeable about the history of the harbor. we got up close and personal with many of the forts and bridges around us. would definitely recommend doing the tour early in the morning in the hottest parts of the summer.

Pleasant and Relaxing

This is a pleasant combination package for those that would like to explore the city, the harbor and the history of Charleston. We enjoyed the demeanor of both tour guides -- the gentleman on the boat -- and the woman providing the narrative for the carriage ride.

Were a bit disappointed that the carriage was a large group. We thought that we would be in a more intimate carriage since we booked a group of four. The larger carriages are a bit cumbersome and move sluggishly through the city. The horse pulling ours was obviously tired and needed some rest. (She had a full carriage of large adults!)
