Booking Options

Would have been nice to book a time for Palmetto Carriage before going on Harbor cruise. By the time we walked to Palmetto they were full for the day? I was never given the option to book a carriage tour time when booking the Harbor Cruise when I booked in several days in advance. We missed out on some other activities.

Good trip for my elderly Mother

This was a nice and safe way for my Mom to get out on the water and see around the area from that perspective. The crew was excellent and so friendly. Our only complaint was not being able to hear the tour guide. I don't know if you could offer some sort of audio for people sitting below the top or for the elderly, but that was our only disappointment. We missed most of the tour details.

Great Way to See the City!

Our group did the harbor cruise then a carriage ride through historic downtown and the next day a visit to Boone Plantation. We loved all 3! You would never be able to drive downtown and see the sites or get the history on your own! We would like to do it all over again. Boone Plantation was way more awesome than we expected - we could have spent all day.

Great time in Charleston

Chose this combo tour to get in all areas of the city. Took the carriage ride first and glad we did. Gave us a lot of history of the city. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Had beautiful weather for the harbor tour, also very interesting. We took one day for the plantation tour as there is a lot to take in. Only had 2 days to see it all and wanted to get in as much as we could.

OK for a Charleston overview
Sun, Oct 19, 14   3:30 PM dstanley4 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We took the harbor tour and the carriage ride combo tours. They were OK as a Charleston quick familiarization, but not as a centerpiece of a vacation. We had excellent weather for these tours. The harbor cruise is a good primer for local history, but the scenic part leaves you a little let down because everything is seen from such a distance. The carriage ride was bumpy but also a good tour on local history. We took three separate tours and the the guides started to sound very scripted. There is no way they could have come up with the same odd little facts without it coming from some sort of "official" history script given to them. Not all of it sounded scripted, but enough to where the wife and I both noticed the coincidence.

All in all a good primer on local history - but plan to do some walking yourself if you want to enjoy the local charm and details.

Both informative & enjoyable history of Charleston

The tours provided an enjoyable history of Charleston. The guides held everyone's interest and made the tour a didactic experience. I look forward to a future tour at Christmas when additional family will be visiting us.

Cannot do all 3 on a Sunday!
Sun, Oct 19, 14   11:30 AM Wayneskinner Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Called and booked the Tri Combo tour. Took the earliest harbortour that started at 11:30 a.m. immediately after getting off the boat we went to do the carriage tour. Drove to the location, paid $10.00 to park, walked up to the carriage place and was told the earliest spot was 3:30 p.m. Our Boon Hall Plantation tour was scheduled to close at 5. p.m. We had to forgo the carriage tour and immediately drive to the Boon Hall Plantation.

With Boon Hall closing at 5 p.m.on Sunday all three of these tours can not be done on a Sunday. Being tourists we had no idea of the time factors involved. The booking agent being the professionals they are SHOULD inform guests that the 3 tour would be best done over 2 days if booked on a Sunday.

On an up note the two tours we were able to do, Harbor and Plantation tour were very good and we enjoyed both. The fact that we did not get to do the carriage tour (we were leaving town early the next day) and paid a $10.00 parking fee for nothing did in fact put a bit of a damper on our entire day!

The harbor tour and carriage tour were awesome. The plantation was good, but not as good as the other tours. Overall, we all had a great time!

My friend and I had a fantastic time on the palmetto carriage tour AND the harbor tour. Our carriage tour guide was a lot of fun and had so much wonderful information. We got to see the city streets as well as the gorgeous residential homes. The boat tour was also fantastic. The captain was so informative and very funny. There are snacks and drinks on the boat as well making the whole experience very enjoyable.

Awesome visit to Historic Charleston

My group was able to spend one night in Charleston, SC recently. We arrived around lunch time at the marina for our Harbour Cruise. The staff was helpful and professional, and the tour guide was witty, but informative. We still had plenty of time to check in at our hotel before heading to the carriage tour. The weather was perfect for an outdoor event. We all enjoyed the close up look at the churches, homes and parks. Our hotel was within walking distance of several restaurants and pubs, so we did not have to drive and find parking for dinner. After a great dinner at Fleet Landing, we stopped at different pubs to hear live music on the way back to the hotel. Next morning, we check out of our hotel and drove to Mt. Pleasant (15-20 mins) for the Boone Hall Plantation tour. Wow!! The place is so well maintained and give a true glimpse into our country's past. It was a great trip that we hope to repeat soon!!!

The Harbor Tour is a definite must

The trio tour was the best deal of the three options, but without a doubt, the Harbor Tour is a must. If you can only get to one of the three, then I'd recommend the Harbor Tour. It's informative, serene, beautiful, and they serve wine, beer, and snacks in the bar.

The harbor trip was ok.
Thu, Oct 16, 14   11:30 AM Marty53 Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
The harbor tour was ok. There was not really that much history or sites to see until we got to the fort. However, the carriage ride was GREAT! The drivers are well trained in the history of Charleston. Our driver was great. I really enjoyed this part of the package.
