We had a great time visiting 4 local BBQ joints and learning their history, their interconnected-ness and their rivalries. (The food was fantastic as well!) Excellent tour of KC built in and a fun little stop at a sauce store to try samples. Absolutely fantastic time. Pro tip: do not have 7pm dinner reservations!

We went with another couple on the 5 stop tour and had a great time. The guides were fun and informative. it was my buddies birthday and the whole bus sang for him before we even started. I had eaten at 2 out of 4 of the restaurants but found a new favorite and that would be LC'S. They had the best burnt ends ever. Don't hesitate to do take these tours. We are planning on taking brew tour soon.

My wife and I flew into KC on Valentine's Day morning and took a cab to the meeting location for the tour. Not really sure what to expect, we both eagerly loaded onto the bus. We were treated to a fantastic tour of Kansas City, both historically, and of some amazimg BBQ. I'm a bigger guy and was a little worried about portions, needless to say when we flew home that night I was more than content! Four hours went by so fast, and we enjoyed three BBQ joints that were on a must visit list we discovered before the trip, and the fourth was just sauce on the ribs (icing on the cake doesn't really fit here). We had enough time to go and visit Boulevard Brewery on our own after the tour, and still had time to take a cab back to the airport to catch our flight back to Colorado. What says Valentine's Day better than some meat!

I bought tour tickets as a gift to my husband for Valentine's Day and he loved it! We knew we would be visiting 4 restaurants but the bottling company was an added bonus! We left the tour stuffed, with left overs, and with a few unique sauces. Highly recommend the original tour and we might come back for an evening tour. Great time, wonderful people, and delicious BBQ!

KC Barbecue Tours
KC Barbecue Tours simply began with married couple, Karl and Bethanie Schemel’s, years of love for Kansas City barbecue. Born and raised in Chicago, where he worked on his father's boat guided tour business, Karl moved to Kansas City in 1998 to attend college. That was when his taste for barbecue began. Raised in Wichita, KS and with family ties to Kansas City, Bethanie has been enjoying Kansas City barbecue since she was very young.
After years of sampling the various Kansas City barbecue options the couple realized that their pasts could unite to provide a bus guided food tour of the best barbecue in the world. Karl and Bethanie’s hope is that each guest will leave the tour with the same love and appreciation for Kansas City barbecue that they have.
