Good Not Great Experience

My friend and I decided to do a Food Tour in Milwaukee because we have done about 5 of them in other cities. With both of us being from Milwaukee originally, we did not expect to learn anything new about the city we know and love, but our Tour Guide, Jean, was amazing!! She did a great job of presenting information about Milwaukee and the restaurants we visited in a professional, but clever manor that kept us very interested! We would recommend this tour because of her! Great job. What made the tour part only okay is the amount of food and drink we got on the 3rd Ward Tour. Like I said, my friend and I have done a few different food tours in Seattle and Minnesota and at each stop they typically provided a small 4-5oz. glass of beer or wine to accompany the food. I thought that since this particular Milwaukee tour was $50 per person, we would have at least gotten more to drink than just a small 4oz glass of beer at one of the establishments. For the amount of money spent, we both did not feel as though we had enough which is the rating of "good" but not "great." I would recommend this tour to a person who has never done a food tour because you will not be disappointed because you will have nothing to compare it to, but for a seasoned food tourer, you may not like it as much!!

History vs. Food - drawing a perfect line!

I love food and my husband loves history, so it was magical that a tour was so incredible it was the perfect union for our eleventh wedding anniversary. The food/restaurant selections were delicious - it would be incredibly hard to pick a favorite. I am a vegetarian and was accommodated in such away that I never "missed out" by not eating what the group ate (which only happened at one stop on the tour). We did not eat before the tour and had to cancel our dinner plans because we were so full! Karen, our guide, was very entertaining and knowledgable and answered thoroughly every question the group asked. Her passion for Milwaukee was contagious and we can't wait to take our next tour!

Marie was not only an outstanding guide, she was also a historian. Not only did we get great food, we also got historical information on the Third Ward.

A delightful way to introduce guests to MIlwaukee's history and flavors. Relaxed presentation with interaction and personal touches of a storyteller.

I went with my girlfriend to see a different part of Milwaukee, learn a little bit, and of course eat. The tour guide was great and very friendly and talkative. We went to a few different places with great food and fun events to be had such as the ping pong bar with a filet mignon slider yumm :) I recommend this highly!

Great Tour Guide

Rebecca was knowledgable, open to questions, enthusiastic, and so very nice. She made the walk in the cold, cold weather bearable. She was sure to engage everyone on the tour to meet their specific needs. She is an excellent tour guide. The food was also much more than I expected and it was all very good.

Fun with friends, but ...

History part was interesting. Choice of restaurants were ok. Fun because it was with big group of friends, however if it was just my husband and I and we spent $100, we would have thought it wasn't worth it.

Loved it

The walking part was great and details provided about locations, buildings or history of area were great, the food was good, and price was good. I would offer several others in same location using different food places and walking tours showcasing even more locations in the same area. I know there are other tours in other locations and i will attend some of those but i would also do the same tour i was just on only with different locations / food. Missed opportunity to see more and learn more about a specific area.

Biking food tours might also be a great option.
