We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

This was our first tour that our group had gone on so we weren't sure what to expect, but we all had a fantastic time! I myself having Celiacs disease was a bit worried as to how the tour was going to go. Our guide helped out tremendously. She was on top of everything and very attentive to my needs. Which put my mind at ease a little! We will surly be doing another tour! Thanks for the good time!

Thank you for the review and sharing your experience. We work hard to accommodate to the dietary restrictions and allergies of our guests, which can be challenging at times. I would suggest checking out our Old World Third Street tour next if you enjoyed the Historic Third Ward. We lead you down the cobblestone streets of Milwaukee's old German neighborhood. This is another route that we can adjust the food if necessary. We hope to see you soon!

Great food and fun history!

Our guide Tyler did a great job of describing what to expect during the food tour. He was enthusiastic when talking about and describing the restaurants and food we would partake of during the evening. The history lesson we received about Milwaukee was interesting and entertaining. Our guide kept the group moving at a good pace and he was very polite and personable. Even though we only had one entree at each establishment ( which by the way they were all delicious ) the description of the food and eating establishment by our guide makes me want to return to Milwaukee and eat at all of them for full meals!

We are happy to hear you enjoyed it and thanks for your feedback. If you liked the Third Ward tour, try the Old World Third tour next. We walk you down the cobblestone streets of Milwaukee's German neighborhood while sampling cheese and sausage. Bring your friends and an appetite!

We felt that our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We received much more history than we had expected. Food was delicious and portions were generous. We actually could not finish it all. Would definitely recommend this tour and guide...we were impressed.

Great tour guide, could have more wine/beer

Juliette was our guide and she was great! Very knowledgeable and informative. She made all of us feel welcome, and 4 of our group where from 2 different states. Based on what I had read on-line I was under the impression we would get more beer/wine than what we did. We only got beer at Swig, water at every place but the Italian deli, where water would have been helpful based on the food. The food was very good with one exception, Swig. It was beef on a skewer, which was mostly over cooked, some dipping sauce may have helped it. All in all, the 4 of us really enjoyed the tour and I have been recommending it to everyone I tell about it. We would be most interested in trying another tour.

Thank you for the detailed review. We appreciate your feedback and will look into the issues you brought up. The Third Ward route has less drinks offered than some of our other routes. Our most popular tour with drinks included would be our Historic Bar tour. We drive you around town in our big green bus, while sharing history and stopping at the oldest bars in town. There is a drink offered at every stop and we serve a few snacks along the way. We hope you and your friends try us again!

It was our first time visiting Milwaukee and the tour was a great way to experience the city. We enjoyed traveling in a group and learning the history of the city. Our tour guide, Tyler, did a wonderful job. If we ever travel to Milwaukee again I would definitely schedule another tour!
Milwaukee Food & City Tours responded:
Thanks for letting MFTs show you our awesome city! We are glad to hear you had a great time. Next time you are in town I would suggest our Historic Bar tour. This is a bus tour (year round) and we take you to four of Milwaukee's oldest watering holes. Non alcoholic drinks and food is also provided. We hope you join us again and thanks for the great review!

Fun Experience!

My husband had purchased tickets for the Third Ward Walking Food tour for our date night. Kim, our guide, was very entertaining, infusing her humor with fun facts about the Third Ward and her experiences as a teacher. She was very accommodating and attentive to my food limitations (Gluten Free). I was thankful that each restaurant was able to offer an alternative to the food being served( but I have to say that after my second salad in a row, I couldn't look at any more lettuce. When Kim announced that I was supposed to have salad #3 at Bugsy's I was thrilled that it was only the Deli meat with Gardinera. Kim apologized profusely but I told her that another salad would have put me into lettuce coma!) Since I wasn't the person who purchased the tickets, I'm not sure if this is an option when purchasing the tour packages but it would be helpful to inform the guide as well as the participating restaurants in advance of any food allergies or limitations so that there might be some variety for those of us who can't eat foods containing wheat. While I would certainly recommend this tour to others, I would probably not participate in another tour because of the limited GF options. Thanks for a fun evening!!

Kim, our guide, was wonderful. She was fun, funny, knowledgeable about the area, and very personable (so she got the group relaxed and enjoying each others' company). I absolutely love food, and there was a good variety of deliciousness with special local charm. I was expecting good food. What I was not expecting were the interesting locations! Cheese curds (which I was told to try locally, glad they were on the tour) with a beer, giant Jenga games and ping pong? What fun! Sneaking in the back alley of a speakeasy with a fake apartment facade? I never would have even heard of it. Thanks for giving me a taste of this town. It was great.

All of the food was wonderful. The walk was a little challenging for me. It seemed we walked further than would have been necessary. Back and forth a bit.
