I'm lucky enough to be local, so intend to do this again. A great experience. This specific boat had a very enthusiastic captain, who made the trip fun, entertaining, and educational. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The captain placed us where the whales were and we were treated to many sightings. The marine biologist was very knowledgeable and her narrative definitely enhanced our tour. The one thing I would do differently is to book the earliest possible time in order to minimize the windy and somewhat rough conditions that can occur on the bay. Overall, a great experience and I will do it again.

We were very pleased with all of the staff - they were very courteous and professional. We were able to follow a group of three humpback whales and got a terrific show.

Was a fun boat ride, very educational, and saw several hump back whales, dolphins, sea otters, and jellyfish. I've done this tour twice and both times I've seen so many wonderful creatures up close to the boat!

I would recommend you dress very warmly - gloves, hat - and consider buying sea sickness pills as it is a very bumping ride the entire time. I never get motion sickness and even I, after a time, had to sit down because I was starting to feel nausea.

Well worth the price and fun for the whole family...

Great to see Whales in the wild!

Seeing whales in the wild was amazing. I know its not predictable, but on this day we only saw a few humpbacks for about 30 mins of our 3 hour tour. Most of the time was spent getting to and from the location the whales typically feed at. Other days may be better as there may be dolphins etc in the area, but on our day there were a few humpbacks and some seals. I was a little disappointed that the bulk of our time on the boat was spent in transit, and only 30 mins devoted to actually being able to stop and see the whales.

1st Time Whale Watcher

The staff was friendly; the boat clean and comfortable; the ride was fun and bouncy, almost like an amusement park ride! It was cool to get sprayed by the Pacific Ocean at the front of the boat. I saw several whale spouts, fins, and tails but not very close - just luck of the draw. However, the sea lions were very close and entertaining. I'd go again but next time with a serious camera. :-)

My wife and I took the trip as a way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first time whale watching with this Princess Monterey Whale Watching Cruise, but it was not our first time whale watching.

It was suppose to be a cruise, but the captain drove the boat at a real high speed, hitting all the cross waves. The boat was going up and down, and side to side. My wife already took Dramamine, and still throwing up. Many passengers were taking Dramamine like candies. When we got to the location, there were only two whales and the captain kept the boat at quite a distance from the whale. You probably get the same view of the whales standing on shore at Moss Landing.

Overall, it was not a good experience for us.

Whale watching fun

We enjoyed our Whale watching excursion on Princess Monterey Whale boat. I would maybe recommend researching times of year when lots of whales might be sighted. While we did see some, and this was the only weekend we could go, if you are flexible in your dates you might be able to see some more up close.
