Sent 2 families on this outing. All were very vocal about how much fun it was and how impressed they were to see the whales, one of which put on an act for them, standing on his tail.

A memorable trip.

Bait and switch routine.

I was upset with the asked for charge of $20.00 per person to sit on the upper deck. We had already paid a non refundable $100.00 for my wife and me. To ask an additional $40.00 to be able to sit on a chair instead of standing at the rail was uncalled for, and never mentioned in any print ad before arriving at the dock. In business this is known as "bait and switch" and is illegal. Thanks for the help.

The boat was clean and comfortable. We especially liked the upper deck viewing. Terrific trip overall.

We wanted to round up our visit to San Francisco and Monterrey with an unforgettable experience, and boy, did the Princess Monterrey Whale Watching cruise deliver!

Our 11-year old twins are keen on whales and dolphins, and after spending the day before at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium getting to know the wildlife in the area, we were really excited about this whale watching cruise.

After an hour-long boat trip from Fisherman's Wharf at Monterrey, it was really quite breathtaking to actually see the whales break the surface all around our boat. After a while, we too were able to understand how the sealions work with the whales to feed to anchovies - first one sees a group of sealions boobing about and feeding excitedly, and then there is a spray of water, the sleek grey back of the humpback breaks the the surface, before its umistakeable tail waves "goodbye".

The whales do come incredibly close to the boat, and seeing just a glimpse of these beautiful behemoths makes one realise how large the world's oceans are, and really how little we know about them. This Whale watching cruise is really a life-changing experience.

We set out in fairly grey weather with quite a swell, and it took a while to get to the deep water canyon off Moss Landing. The naturalist on board kept us entertained and informed with a running documentary about the whales and other creatures we might see. then , just when it looked as if we were going to be unlucky, 'There she blows' We saw our first whale cruising and diving. It is always such fun working out if and where they will resurface. We ended up seeing lots of Humpback whales, watched acrobatic sea lions and saw dolphins. This is a great trip and excellent value. Make sure you take warm, waterproof clothing as it can get wet and chilly but you can always go inside the boat and get hot drinks and snacks if you wish. Unforgettable!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our whale watching experience. It was surprisingly cold for June, but enjoyable none-the-less. The whales were gorgeous and we enjoyed the narrative by the naturalist.

I would suggest that the company offer pictures in front of a green screen (possibly with a whale tale in the background). When we were in San Francisco, our picture was taken in front of a green screen and we had the opportunity to purchase the pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background; similarly in Seattle with the Space Needle in the background. I would also suggest warm beverages be offered besides coffee. Hot chocolate would have been perfect!

Princess Monterey is an excellent whale watching e

As someone who has been whale watching many times and in several places, I highly recommend Princess Whale watching. Their boats are the largest in Monterey for whale watching, and as such they provide a little more stability and comfort for those who are less experienced or comfortable on the ocean, so if anyone in your party may get queasy, thus is your best bet. The seats are comfortable and there is ample space on board so everyone can roam to whatever part of the boat has the best view without feeling too squeezed in. All in all, an excellent experience.
