Fantastic Tour!

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and had such a wonderful personality. The tour was so much fun - we saw many whales and other marine life (even a baby otter as we were heading back to port). I was just sad when we had to head back.

I had a fantastic time on this cruise. Not only did we see dozens of sea lions and dolphins, but we saw a dozen gray whales trying to evade a pack of Orcas that were hunting them. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and it was a fantastic experience! Highly Recommended!

Very choppy, sick the entire time

I wouldn't do this trip unless you are sure you are not prone to seasickness. It was very choppy and my son and I were sick the entire time. Very unpleasant. There are other reasons that I would not recommend this touring company, though. The woman who narrated the tour made jokes about safety ("when you see me rowing away in a lifeboat, you'll know there's an emergency") and gave vague direction about safety ("we won't be wearing life jackets except for the very little ones"). The topic of safety should be reviewed with passengers in a clear and unambiguous way. Also, except for the voice narration coming through the speakers, there was no one on the crew to be found on the lower deck throughout the entire 2.5 hour tour. So for example when my son started getting sick, we had to search around and find the throw up bags all by ourselves (they were in the snack bar, not the usual place I'd look). I've been on other ocean tours that were significantly better in terms of staffing (both in terms of the number of people available to answer your questions and the information provided), the quality of the audio, and the care expressed around passenger safety.

The boat was clean with plenty of space. Water was rough so some were getting sick. The crew treated them Very well. Good narration done with enthusiasm. We saw a couple whales and Lots Of Dolphin. Good trip.

I had never had the opportunity to whale watch, and neither had my husband. When we found out that we had a 3-day weekend coming up, we mentioned the idea of whale watching in Monterey Bay and are so glad that we went through with it! Great sightings, great company (Princess Monterey Whale Watching), great experience!

Not such a clear day out on the water, however, it was beautiful. The boat was a little rocky, so motion sickness medicine is highly recommended. Was feeling a bit ill until we saw the Pacific White Sided Dolphins and they were beautiful! Coming right up to the boat and showing off for the cameras! This was our second trip with Princess Whale Watching and we would for sure do it again. The staff is friendly and accommodating, :)

My fiancé and I recently booked a trip with Princess Whale Watching for Valentine's Day. We'd used Princess before and had a wonderful time, and our second trip was just as fun. The boat was smooth and had plenty of space for everyone to get a good view. We traveled for about forty-five minutes before we saw whales, but we definitely saw them! We got remarkably close to a group of four gray whales. They were gorgeous! We followed them for about another half hour to forty-five minutes, with excellent photo opportunities. And then, on the way back, we stumbled across a pod of dolphins! We promptly turned to follow the pod for ten minutes or so. All in all, the trip was a success, tons of fun, we saw plenty of marine life, and even had a narrator to tell us fun facts about the whales, etc. An excellent idea for couples, families, or even quiet individual time. Recommended!

we had a good time !! The crew was knowledgeable and helpful. Wish the whales could have been seen closer but we know with wildlife that doesn't always work out.
