Great crew! Nicest boats we saw. We viewed so many animals. Sea lions, jellies, and of course humpbacks. We had easily 30 sightings.

This was great. The only trouble is that it's easy to get sea sick!

We have greatly enjoyed several whale watching adventures in Cabo San Lucas. When we heard about lots of humpbacks in Monterey Bay, we were excited to go see them. The heavy seas made it very difficult to focus on anything other than trying to keep from loosing our breakfast!! I have never experienced any seasickness before, and have spent a great deal of time on the water in all sorts of vessels. This was not a fun trip. By the way, we did see 2 whales, but they stayed mostly submerged. Spent the rest of the day recovering :(

We had visitors from Denmark who arrived on 7 Aug. and let us know they would like to go on a whale watch. We would have only one full day in Monterey, Saturday. Zerve got us 4 tickets on a Sat. morning ship even though it was a very busy day for the Princess Cruises. It all turned out as good as one could expect.

We've seen a lot of whales, some even very close of the boat (a few meters) ! A great experience ! Our boys (9, 14 and 18 did appreciate as well).

PS : About 1 hour on the spot and 2 hours for the the trip (way to go and way back).

The ocean had a little swail the attendant said. It was ridiculous everyone on the boat got super sick. The restrooms were covered in vomit. By the time we made it to the whales nobody cared. The worst three hours I ever had. Plus the following 16 hours. They should not take your money and go out when they know everybody will get deathly sea sick.

Motion Sickness Galore

The boats used are the ferry boats that you often see in the bay on calm waters. When the ferry goes into the ocean, the boat rocks a lot. I never get sea sick but for this trip, it was not pleasant. A woman threw up within minutes from leaving the port and she just laid their for the rest of the boat ride.. I don't think she even got up to see the whales. A kid looked passed out on the bench. Like a few others have said, half the people on the boat looked exhausted.

When the boat slowed down near the site of the whales, the motion is not as bad. There were roughly 8 whales and lots of sealions. None of the whales ever came out of the water head first. Most of them just stayed under water and when they dove, you can get the picture of their tail.

I would not recommend this trip unless you really really really wanted to see the whales. The boat ride is very unpleasant. Make sure to take some motion sickness medicine even when you are not prone to motion sickness.

I had a great personal experience but think it would be beneficial to Princess if they let people know that traffic and parking can be a challange and to allow extra time so that they do not miss their reservation.

We came at a great time and saw alot of whale activity.
