We love the Old Town Orange Walking Food Tours, and this Christmas one was wonderful! We experienced some food venues for the first time, others for a fun re-visit and were able to browse in a variety of shops along the way. Some of us even added to our Christmas shopping! It was interesting and fun to hear stories of the history of the area, as well!

Our tour guide was engaging and shared fun information about the local architecture and businesses. The food tastes were yummy, and the tour provided a nice introduction to unique shops that we look forward to exploring in more detail on our own. All in all, a fun low-key afternoon with a nice group of new friends.

This quaint town "the circle", especially during the holiday season, is a relaxing, fun place to spend an afternoon.
The shops are interesting, the food is plentiful, and the people are friendly. The length of the tour was 3 hours, which was perfect. Our guide, Linda, was bubbly and entertaining, and added interesting info to the tour. I highly recommend Old Town walking food tours as an activity for locals and visitors alike.

This was the first time I participated in an activity like this, and I really enjoyed it! Our tour guide was very informative about each stop on the tour, as well as the history of the area. One of the stops, Watson's drug store, is a great old place, with a lunch counter and soda fountain, a real step back in time! One of the tour guests won a gift certificate to one of the shops we visited, in a little raffle done by the tourguide, and she also gave each of us a little map to see a nearby street where all the houses are decorated for Christmas at the conclusion of the tour. I had a lot of fun, and recommend this activity!
You don't leave hungry!!!! :-)

Praises to Old Towne Orange Walking Food Tours and to Renee, who was our tour guide on the Christmas in Old Towne Orange Food Tour. What a delightful time it was. Renee was excellent! She was entertaining, friendly, informative and fun! It was obvious that Renee, who is a long-time resident of Orange, enjoys sharing Old Towne Orange and bringing history to life. The small size of our group made it very enjoyable as well because we were able to ask as many questions as we wanted. We never felt rushed. There were five people total, including Renee, in our group. I can't pay enough compliments to Old Towne Orange Walking Food Tours, and its hospitality. All the shops and wide-array of restaurants we visited were decked out in their Christmas finest. We had food samples enough to feel more than satisfied. Christmas is a spectacular time in charming, Old Towne Orange! (This is the second Christmas in Old Towne Orange Food Tour I've been on.)

The pace of the tour was good, plenty of time to shop in the little stores we visited and to enjoy the various samplings of food along the route. Very much enjoyed the various foods, but I'd suggest going lighter on the garlic options (soup and pizza because the flavours can be too strong and my friend is allergic to onions and garlic). Propietors were all friendly and welcoming and the tour guide was congenial, easy to spend time with.
As an aside, it's worth just going to visit the town of Orange. Very attractive and appealing, accessible and resonant with small towns in times' past. Worth also touring the side streets after, to see great Christmas light decorations, especially about four blocks east of the downtown area. I loved the place, could imagine living in such a pleasant place and will be visiting again.
Surprised about how much fun we had!

We enjoyed our afteroon of touring and sampling. Guides were friendly and kept things moving without a sense of being hurried along. Food samples were generous and interestingly varied. The shops we visited were also varied and kept with the holiday theme. We learned a lot about a place right in our own backyard. I feel parking choices could have been more explained in advance. Most street and lot parking had a 2 hour limit and the tour was 3 hours long. It was nvever made clear rather we could park in the Wells Fargo lot as customers or not. We will definitely take another walking tour with this company.
- Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay with cash?
- Due to the advanced preparation required for each tour, tickets must be purchased in advance. Tours often sell out quickly, so we recommend booking as far in advance as possible!
- If a tour is sold out can I get on a waiting list?
- You may email us to be put on a waiting list. We will contact you if space becomes available after you are placed on the list; however, cancellations are rare, so it is always best to choose another date and time if possible.
- What type of tickets are available for your tours and events?
- We sell tickets for $70 for all age groups. Children ages 5 and under are complimentary and can share tastings with an accompanying adult, however please note that the tour is 2-1/2 to 3 hours long. Please take this into consideration when planning your children's participation in the tour. Furthermore, please also note that the streets in the Old Towne Orange Plaza area can be very busy. We will be crossing one or more of the Plaza streets during our tour. If you will be bringing a child, you will be solely responsible for their supervision. Orange Food Tours/Old Towne Orange Walking Food Tour will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries while on the tour. Please watch your step and keep your little ones close at all times.
- Is the food on the tour appropriate for children?
- The food on this tour is generally child-friendly, but it will be up to parents to make that determination for their own children individually.
- Can I take care of some of my Christmas shopping on this tour?
- Absolutely! We will visit several boutique, specialty shops that are unique to Orange and the Orange holiday tradition. This tour is a great opportunity to pick up a few one-of-a-kind gifts for your family and friends!
- How should I dress during a tour?
- Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing during the tour. Over the duration of the tour, we will be walking about 1 1/4 miles, not including going in and out of restaurants. Please include sunscreen and a hat if you are sensitive to the sun, and on cool days a light sweater or jacket.
- How many people can attend a tour?
- The maximum number of participants per tour is 15.
- Will the tour take place if it’s raining?
- The tour will take place in a light to moderate drizzle (almost all the sidewalks we'll be on are covered!). If rain is heavy, the tour will likely be rescheduled. You will be notified of cancellation either by email one hour prior to the tour, or you may contact us directly to check on cancellation status (details will be provided upon purchasing your tickets). We understand some of our participants are on vacation here, and if this is the case and we cancel due to weather, we will refund you if rescheduling is not possible for you.

- What restaurants/shops will we visit on the tour?
- Participating restaurants are subject to change. The tour also includes visits to local shops that will be a treat to you. Typically a tour consists of 3-4 savory tastings, 2-3 sweet tastings and 3 shop visits.

- If you have specific needs we will do our best to accommodate you if we know ahead of time. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions when purchasing your tickets. However, we cannot guarantee what the restaurants will have available. We strongly suggest you use your own best discretion when tasting samples, since you are the one who is the most knowledgeable about any food sensitivities that you may have.
- Will there be any places to sit?
- Yes, there are 3-4 sit down stops along the tour route. There will be plenty of breaks between walking and the tour covers around 1 1/4 miles total. There will also be restrooms available for your use at various tasting locations.
- Are any of your walking tours wheelchair and/or stroller-accessible?
- Generally the restaurants on the tour are wheelchair accessible and the sidewalks are compatible for them. If you wish to participate and bring strollers, we strongly suggest a small stroller, which is easier to fold and store. Please keep in mind that at some stops you will have to take your child out of the stroller and carry them, or have them walk.
- Is it customary to tip on a tour?
- Tipping is welcome but not required. We want you to have a great time and everything is included in the price of the tour. However, if you’d like to tip to show that the tour guide did a great job, tips are always appreciated!
- May I bring my dog/pet on the tour?
- We understand your pet would love the tastings too; however, please do not bring your pet on the tour as it may take away from the experience for yourself and others.
- Does this tour have anything to offer locals?
- Yes! Many who participate in our tours live locally, and/or in California. Locals often attend to learn more about the neighborhood and the city and often want to share the city with their out-of-town visitors. We can’t think of a better way to do this.
- Where should I park?
- Parking is available in Old Towne in several free parking lots around the Plaza and city. Further instructions will be provided to you upon purchasing tickets.
