A friend and I purchased the tickets for the tour as a birthday present for another friend who has been heard to exclaim "I like a lot of pizza!" We thought it would be perfect for her, and it was.

We booked the Sunday bus tour and were very happy with the entire experience from start to finish. One pizza in Manhattan, three in Brooklyn, all very different from one another, and all good. Scott explains pizza--sauce, mozz, dough, oven, temps, times, shapes, region, history--you get the whole pie (sorry, I had to).

On the way back to Manhattan from Brooklyn he led everyone on the bus in singing happy birthday to my friend and handed out "slices" of a gummy pizza that someone overseas had sent to him.

Scott remembers "alums" and encouraged us to email him we were returning so that he can pick places different from the first time around. We will definitely take this tour again. Personable, interesting, worthwhile.

Take this tour!

This was probably my third bus tour, and I'm still just as fascinated as I was on the first one. When it comes to pizza and all things related (ovens, history, ingredients, science...), Scott's enthusiasm is unwavering and his knowledge is limitless. There are always a mix of people on the tours--those who say they're obsessed with pizza, those who are indifferent, young and old, local and international--and Scott manages to create a fun, warm, interactive energy every single time. Anyone who is in NYC, likes eating, and enjoys unique facts should absolutely take a Scott's Pizza Tour!

My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary in NYC and on the recommendation of our favorite local pizza maker, we took Scott's Pizza Tour on Sunday - the bus version. We'd been on a pizza tour in another city in the past and had fun but this one was a blast! Scott is in love with pizza and wants everyone to share the love he feels. You can feel his excitement and passion for his favorite food and he clearly loves to share every nugget of pizza knowledge he's acquired over the years. We are looking forward to being able to visit again in the future for one of his neighborhood pizza walking tours!

If you go to New York and you want to experience pizza you HAVE TO take this tour. The pizza is just as good as you'd imagine but what what I really found myself enjoying was the quirky and fun way we got to experience new York and learn about pizza. Scott was great and he'll show/tell you everything you need to know including getting a look at the old coal fired and wood fired ovens. Just make sure to stick with him because his enthusiasm can sometimes get the better of him as we are left behind at one of the stops (first people to be left behind according to Scott). He did his best to make it right and they came back and we still got to experience the last stop to no hard feelings. All in all a memorable experience I totally recommend.

If we could hire Scott to tour us all over NYC, I would pay almost any price. Take this tour. Don't even hesitate. Even if pizza is not your favorite food, Scott will be your favorite tour guide of all time. Best quote - when explaining how dented cans will speed up oxygen in a can of tomatoes - Scott said, "You don't want to get involved with a can like that." Fantastic.
