Take an annual trip to Ft Lauderdale in Feb, always take a city cruise as there is so much to see, and every time you find something new, have tried just about all of the tours offered by boat, found this one enjoyable and informative, but have taken other city boat tours where we got much more information, still welll worth the cost and time. nice boat.

Pleasant cruise but short on commentary

Nice weather always helps a cruise so that was excellent!

We passed another cruise boat (Carrie B.) that appeared to be more full

Of passengers--probably because commentary

on River Cruises was very brief. Still fun to see how the other half lives

We really enjoyed our ride. It was affordable, easy, and interesting to see the notable places on the waterways of Ft Lauderdale. Because of the temperature, the passengers were a bit crowded into the sunny part of the ship to stay warm, but aside from that we had a great time and would definitely go again!

We got this hot time from the Englishman at the check-in. The seats up front were the best! They had chairs with backs on them. The houses were beautiful and the Captain knowledgeable about who lived on Millionnare's Row.

Take the water taxi instead

We ended up taking a different boat that is normally used - this one is used for charters and not a good setup for a tour boat. There was very limited seating; none of which provided a good view out the sides of the boat to look at what was being talked about - so if you wanted a good view you needed to stand up for the 90 min tour. And $3 for a small plastic cup of soda is ridiculous. The guide sounded bored the whole time, and based on the # of times he stated that 1000 people a day are moving to ft L and how he said it, i'm guessing he's not a fan of the people moving in.

This was a chance to see the beautiful homes along the New River that you would not be able to see otherwise. The Captain had lots of information that we enjoyed hearing.

Scam

When we bought the tickets, the girl at the booth by the catamaran said that soft drinks were free and that we also got a coupon for a free drink. When we showed our coupons on the boat to get our drinks, the guy working there said that they were only valid for soft drinks. We told him that that was not what we were told. Soft drinks were free, so why would we need a coupon for that? He insisted and was not nice at all. We then told another guy on the boat and he said he would make an exception and give us our drinks. What a scam to give out coupons for free drinks and then claim that they are just valid for soft drinks that are free!! Stay away from this company!

Staff continually on the lookout for tips after having paid a fair sum for a journey which others do for less $

p.s. Buy your ticket at the boat and save $2 a head on line fixing fee (fix what

They tell you about the fix till the end and at the beginning they say you must book on line !!!!!! Try it.

We live in the area and the Venice of America boat tour is a "must" whenever we are entertaining friends or family who come to stay with us. It is a wonderfully relaxing and entertaining tour, a perfect duration, and a visual feast for the eyes to see and learn about so many exotic residences that line the banks of the waterways.

One of the things that makes this particular tour unique is the quality of the boat, especially with its luxurious air-conditioned lower deck and on-board bar. We chartered this company's sister yacht, the Anticipation IV, for our wedding reception 13 years ago, and the boat used for the Venice tour seems to be just a scaled-down version of that same luxury vessel. One can find other "stars homes" boat tours, for example in Miami Bayside, but they tend to have a much more "touristy" feel to them and the boats are not as comfortable. With frequent guests visiting us in Florida, we have returned to the Venice of America tour probably 7 or 8 times now, and never grow tired of repeating this experience.

Was shorter than the 1.5 hours advertised (left 5 min late, returned about 10 min early)

Free drinks are a nice touch. Staff is courteous.

Difficult to hear the speakers. Views and ride itself are beautiful and relaxing.
