Beyond Exceptional
Sat, Oct 31  12:00 PM Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
This is my second time on the Sampling Syracuse Food Tour. I brought some family members along for the fun. Once again Kate does a great job organizing superb establishments for food and drink tastings. The presentation of the history of Syracuse along the way is very interesting and we all walked away having a day of fun with pleased palates and our tummies full. I'll go yet again and my family all remarked they can't wait until next time! We highly recommend you try this whether you are local or from afar!

Well worth it!!!
Sat, Oct 24  12:00 PM Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My sister and I have always loved the Armory Square section of Syracuse, so when we saw that there was a walking food tour that not only allowed you a chance to visit and sample food from area restaurants, but also included some interesting historical facts about the area and it's architecture, we had to try it! Turns out that we LOVED the samples that we were provided at each of the five restaurants we visited, and we even learned some fun facts while we were on the walking tour. Our guide, Kate, was VERY knowledgeable and vivacious, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It was definitely well worth it and I would encourage others to try it! You will not be disappointed!

I highly recommend this tour for people who grew up in Syracuse like myself and people who are visiting the area. I learned things that I never knew about the area even though I grew up there. There were both locals and out of towners on our tour and I think it was a great experience for everybody! Kate is a great leader and very knowledgeable and engaging! I urge everybody to take this tour!

Great Day!
Sat, Oct 3  12:00 PM Female 60-69 Local Family With Children
We had family (all the children were in their 20's) visiting from out of town and took this opportunity to spend time together. There were 8 of us and the three hours provided a nice occasion for mingling while walking and eating. The tour host was entertaining and very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the restaurants.

The three hours went smoothly and too quickly. All of us really enjoyed the day!

Sampling Syracuse Food Tours

The idea of a food tour in Syracuse began while visiting my very good friend from college Jenn, who lives in New Jersey.  It was June 2012 and she thought it would be fun to spend the afternoon taking a food tour in Manayunk, PA.  Jenn was right, we had the best time!  Thank goodness I do not have daily access to mini Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches!

After our exceptional food tour, we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon in Manayunk, rather than go into Philadelphia as planned.  We were enjoying a beer at the local brewery when it dawned on me that Syracuse would be a great place to have a food tour!  Syracuse has a fascinating historyamazing restaurants and a continuing and exciting revitalization of downtown Syracuse.  After 15 years of friendship, Jenn knows how much I love Syracuse and food, and thought it would be a great idea to start a food tour in Syracuse.

With the help and support of wonderful friends and an amazing family, five months later, Sampling Syracuse Food Tours was ready to showcase incredibly tasty food from some of the best restaurants in Downtown Syracuse all the while walking along city sidewalks and gaining an appreciation for Syracuse’s rich history.

Sampling Syracuse Food Tours is a home-grown, locally owned and operated small business.  We take great pride in our city and its incredible surroundings, and we will go the extra mile to make sure each and every customer on our tours has an experience that is fun, memorable and pleasing to the palate.
