Perfect tour for a multi-generational group!

This was a very successful event for the whole family (three generations.) There was something of interest for everyone and the children (ages 4 to 9) absolutely loved it! We all learned things about the ecology of the Charleston waters and beaches as well as enjoyed a lovely sightseeing tour of the harbor. We highly recommend this tour for families.

Had signed up for this trip thinking we would be going through the marsh area but we misread the trip description. Our bad! That being said, we did have a great time on this tour. Katie, the naturalist, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information with us. We really enjoyed Morris Island. We were lucky to see the horeshoe crabs on the beach. Loved seeing all the different terns also. Thanks for a wonderful time.

We really enjoyed this tour. The naturalist was informative and enthusiastic. It is one of the best tours of Charleston Harbor with the bonus trip of Morris Island. If you like collecting sea shells, be sure to take a big zip lock bag with you to Morris Island.

The Nature/Dolphin tour is a great way to spend the afternoon. We left the dock and went saw a working crab trap then headed to Morris Island. There were pods of Dolphins no more than 30 feet away from the island feeding and we got some great pics. We strolled up and down the beach collecting shells and shark teeth. We headed back and again were able to snap some pictures of dolphins and Ft. Sumter as we cruised by. The captain was great and the other gentleman was extremely nice and informative.

Good trip on a hot day.

The nature trip to Sullivan Island started at 2 pm on a very warm day. But once we got out of the harbor the weather cooled down considerable - breeze mostly. On the way over, we stopped at a crab pot and looked at the caught crabs. Our guide did a good job of describing the blue crabs that were caught. Next we landed at Sullivan Island. We walked near the shore for approx. 30 mins. looking for shells, etc. One can see Ft. Sumter and the outline of Charleston from here. Good place to get pictures.

An opportunity to see a little more of Charleston

This was the first tour we took (also took history tour) with Sandlapper. Saw most of the harbor and spent about 45 minutes on Morris Island. It was very hot that day leaving us with the desire to coax the boat back to the beach to pick us up. We did enjoy the tour though. Since we are really into early American History, we did enjoy the history tour much more. Still I would recommend this tour for those of you that are not history buffs. It is a great opportunity to see Charleston from the water and the islands as well.

We had an awesome time on the Ecotour we recently took. The crewmen were very knowledgeable concerning the animals we encountered and the history of Charleston. The kids loved visting Morris Island and looking for shells! We hope to try the Ghost Tour next time!

Nice way to spend an afternoon

We enjoyed the harbor cruise and the crab pot demonstration but our favorite part was the stop at Morris Island. We were given some time to walk along the beach and collect shells and shark's teeth. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Even though we didn't have small children in our group, they interacted well with the kids on board. Since it's billed as a nature cruise we expected a more eco-geared tour but overall we had a good time and even saw some dolphins.

Hoped for more

We very much enjoyed the dolphins and the boat ride itself. We went out when you could see lightning in the background (I assume that is safe?). We thought trolling the ocean floor meant a net would be dragged behind the boat and pulled up for all sorts of sea creatures. Instead, we went to a crab pot and put a few crabs in an little fish tank on board. We landed on Morris Island which our family has dubbed "Gnat Island" because we were bitten non stop by little tiny gnats. The children were a good sport about it, but it caused tension. Bring bug spray if you go! Not sure if it is always like that, but this was our experience.
