Fun day but not much nature

The cruise was a fun trip. I wish there had been a little more nature to see. I was hoping to see more animals and have a greater explanation of the birds and plants. I would have liked to spend more time on the water and less time looking for shells on the island.

Interesting but too expensive

The captain could not find the float for the crab pot. The lecture on whelk eggs, devil's purse, etc. was audible only b/c we sat in front of the speaker. The unescorted walk on Morris yielded little more than a free walk on Folly Beach would. To make up for the no-show crab pot, the captain lingered off the Yorktown and gave us the ship's history, which was a good substitute. Both the captain and the biologist were a pleasure to talk with.

Fun Tour

My husband and our 9 year old granddaughter loved the tour around Charleston Harbor and out to Morris Island where with a little help from the tour guide (marine biologist), our granddaughter found a shark's tooth. We found many lovely shells, saw dolphin fins but unfortunately no crabs in the crab pot which was baited with chicken and pulled up by the ship's captain. Going and coming to Morris Island, we had a running commentary about sea life, some info on the USS Yorktown and tidbits about Ft Sumter. All in all a pleasant way to spend a couple of hour in the fresh air on the water.

Great staff, very knowledgeable, great boat ride, interesting facts along the way. The time on the island was pretty amazing! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. We were on board with a smaller group, maybe 25 or so, but the age range was vast and I believe everyone enjoyed it!

Guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The cruise was nice and comfortable, not overcrowded. Points of interest described on the way out, effort to find wildlife. Saw a few dolphins, pelicans, and pulled a crab trap up with blue crab in it. A little disappointed in lack of collectable shells on the island as this is why we went on the cruise, everywhere else you aren't allowed to keep the shells. Otherwise nice trip.

This excursion was great. Fantastic views, informative, and the barrier island walk was really fun. The crew was very friendly and Ally our naturalist was funny and knowledgable. We would do this again!

This trip was thoroughly enjoyed. The naturalist on board was enthusiastic and informative. Strolling on the island beach and shelling was excellent as she pointed out objects. Wonderful weather certainly helped a lot. If anything was missing it was more history, but this is an Eco-tour, not a history tour. Go if you can.
