A most unique and enjoyable way to view Salem and its surrounding towns by water. Captain and crew social and informative about Salem Harbor. We have been on multiple cruise tours and this was the best - something we would definitely recommend. Guests are also invited to help out with the sailing of the schooler it they can just relax and enjoy the view with a cold drink.

Great sail with wonderful narration

I have brought several groups to Salem with a sail on the Fame as the focus. 100% of my travelers have raved about the trip. The Fame sails very comfortably, and the narration is relaxed and informative but not constant. Several of my travelers particularly enjoyed taking the helm. It is always a great trip!

Upon first look the schooner seemed authentic and the perfect size - not too big not too small. Upon boarding it was spacious for the 20 or so other guests too. The Spirit schooner was in tip top shape. The handmade and natural tones of the mast and all its accouterments looked like something you would see in a fine arts show. Pride of ownership was obvious in the paint job detail and cleanliness of the masts. The owner and staff took pride in their knowledge of history and craftsmanship. It was a hot sultry day and being out on the open ocean with the cool breezes refreshing mind, body, and spirit could not be any more enticing than it already was except the offer of a nice cold beer, wine, or marguerita. Mike, the captain told us each trip depends on which way the winds are blowing so each trip is different covering more northerly, easterly, or southerly directions. Anyone who desired could help hoist the sails. I shall come again! One little caviar - I liked the tee shirts on the front but found too much advertisement written on the back to my liking.

Peaceful sail related to US history

The 2-hour sail on the Fame, a replica of an 1812 privateer, was comfortable, peaceful and informative. The crew was very friendly and discussed local current events, history relating to US shipping and the War of 1812. Our group ranged in age from 64-83, but was still able to participate in raising the sails.

Each crew member interacted with guests without being pushy or condescending. They were very knowledgeable and took pride in their work.
