Relaxing evening

Due to California traffic we were late arriving for our 7pm gondola. We did call to let them know we would be ten minutes late. They were kind enough to wait and still gave us the full hour ride; it was a quiet, cool, Friday night so not sure they would have been able to do this on a busy, pleasant evening, but do believe they would still make it an enjoyable experience. It was just my husband and I and it was quite lovely, and very relaxing; the sky was clear, the stars shining brightly, with little wind blowing. The gondolier did a wonderful job and seranaded us under the bridge, which allowed for wonderful accoustics. It was a perfect way to end what had been a very strenuous day. Highly recommend.

I've never been nor has my girlfriend but I booked it as a surprise for her birthday. She liked after the wine got into her but she was scared at first because it was swaying. Other than that she loved it and so did I. The guy was super friendly. Nice voice. Excellent experience.

Not the romantic ride I was expecting

The instructions said to be 15-20 minutes early, so we could leave on time. When we got there, there was no one manning the kiosk, so we wandered around the complex trying to find someone representing the company. I called the contact number and was told that they sometimes run a few minutes late. My wife and I rushed to get there early, only to have to wait until 10 minutes late before the gondola arrived from the last trip. NOT A GOOD START.

Our gondolier was a very nice 17 year old local high school student, who apologized for being late, but he blamed the people that were there before us (in front of them) making for a more awkward start. And he complained that other guy who was supposed to be manning the kiosk had left him without dinner. Again, not a good start!

The best part about the ride was the personal service, the gondolier told us a bit of history of the gondola we were riding in (imported from Venice, Italy) and a good amount of local knowledge about the people living there.

However, it was not the romantic moonlit serenade I was hoping for. Our gondolier did pause upon reaching a bridge, telling us that it was good luck to kiss under the bridge in a gondola and sang a bit in Italian, which was nice and I really do not think it was his fault that the trip went the way it did. I blame the management.

The guy driving the gondola was great. But the area you ride through is just a residential area. Nothing special.
