Me and my boyfriend did this tour during our last minute romantic vacation into Philly. We only live about an hour outside of Philly but are still new to the state.

We've never done something like this, a tour of any kind but we are both foodies and it seemed like something fun to try.

The group was small (6 people, 3 couples) so it was really nice. Our tour guide Virginia was great! Easy to talk to and she keep things interesting and moving smoothly. She gave out alot of information but managed to avoid making it seem like a lecture.

The places we visited were great. We visited the Reading Terminal Market first which, as a first timer, was a bit intimidating. Very busy, with alot of people. But Reading Terminal is a MUST see in Philly so it was worth it. We ate at 3 different places there.

Then moved onto Macys, cutting through while she gave us some brief history. It was beautiful. From there we walked to Di Frisco's. We didnt eat but it was a absolutely stunning restaurant to visit. A ton of history. From there we walked to Di Bruno's.

Now Di Bruno's was the main reason I picked this tour in particular. I was really excited to go and I definitely wasnt disappointed. She brought us to a closed off area so it was quiet. We did a fun little cheese tasting class and let our feet rest. We then went shopping through the store where we were encouraged to sample everything. We ended up buying dinner for later from there.

Next and lastly, we went to Capogrio Gelato. We did a fun tasting of 6 different flavors. Not tiny little amounts either, more than a tablespoon worth of these unique flavors. She ended things smoothly after that.

She had also provided us large bottles of water for throughout the tour. It was a walking tour, but nothing rough especially with good weather. She kept up information no matter where we walked, giving out tidbits of everything we saw.

We plan on doing other tours. This was absolutely wonderful and we loved it.

Here was the food: dried pears, a doughnut, slices of cheese, "tastes" of gelato, small sampling of greek (best out of the bunch). Really??? Have been on other tours, more organized, sampling of foods were well thought out as was the tour. The guide for this tour did the best she could under the circumstances. You should be ashamed of yourself charging for this tour.
